My teaching philosophy aims to provide well-grounded foundation of business, which is based on 3 core areas of business acumen. The first area consists of a solid understanding of the functions of management, basic economic measures to assess the business climate, business ethics, social responsibility, and international organizations and agencies that regulate business on a global scale. The second area focuses solely on the assessment of internal capabilities centered on financial, production and efficiency measures of organizations’ capabilities to compete in the global marketplace. These internal capabilities are examined from the perspectives of accountancy, financial analysis, customer relationship management, creating customer value, organizational behavior and supply chain management. I challenge my students to identify organizations’ strengths and weaknesses and suggest the effective changes based on sound business applications. The third area centers on the strategy development, implementation and measurement.
My research experience from a publication perspective is growing by the year. Upon obtaining my doctorate in November 2011, I was invited to present my results on the impact of the factors of intangible assets on economic profit to the 2012 International Conference of Business Research held at the University of Sharjah. My strength is in my 14 plus years as a professional in corporate America. This experience working at top American companies allowed me the opportunity to apply business theories in the areas of strategy, human resources, organizational behavior and financial management.
